New Listserv for Dining Operators at Campuses & Hospitals

Dining Directors, Managers, Chefs & Cooks: Join this Listserv!

We want to let you know about another exciting tool to help you stay connected to other institutional dining operators in New England who are also interested in local foods. We have just created a Google Groups page and email list that is open to dining operators. The list was created based on feedback from other institutional dining directors.   

The list will currently include operators (director, manager, chef, cook, etc.) who work at New England colleges, private K-12 schools, or health care facilities. It will allow you to share information, ask questions, and otherwise communicate about sourcing and preparing local foods, trouble-shooting, sharing recipes that feature local items, or to let people know about events or happenings at your facility.  We hope it will encourage collaboration and improved resources for dining operators in New England who care about and want to improve their use of local and regional products.   

The group also has the ability to serve as a forum once you are a member and you log into the Google Groups page, but the main function that most use is the email listserv. This allows you to send an email to [email protected] (you must be a member of the group to send an email), and it will go out to anyone who agrees to join the group.

If you are interested in joining the group, visit this page and click on "subscribe to this group", which will then prompt you to enter your email address. We will then approve your membership to the group, after which point you will be able to receive the messages sent out by other group members and post messages yourself. You are able to set this list to "digest mode" if you do not want to receive individual emails from group member as they come out.
