Willie is a food marketing researcher at the UConn Rudd Center for Food Policy & Obesity. His research focuses on trends in food and beverage marketing to children, with emphasis on the targeted marketing of unhealthy food and beverages to Black and Hispanic youth. Willie has many years of experience in obesity research which includes molecular biology benchwork and physical activity interventions. He received his MPH in Health Policy & Management from UMass Amherst, and concentrated his undergraduate studies in Human Nutrition, Foods & Exercise at Virginia Tech.
