The Farm & Sea to Campus Network is Seeking a Logo Designer!

Graphic Design Request for Proposals

FINE Seeks a Graphic Designer to Develop a Logo for the Farm & Sea to Campus Network

Farm to Institution New England (FINE) is a six-state network of nonprofit, public and private entities working collaboratively to strengthen our food system by increasing the amount of New England-grown and processed food served in our region’s schools, hospitals, colleges and other institutions.

The New England Farm & Sea to Campus Network, coordinated by FINE, is a community of higher education and food systems stakeholders who connect, share, and collaborate to develop transparent regional supply chains and educate campus communities about regional food systems.

The work that FINE and the Farm & Sea to Campus Network carry out to build stronger, more engaged, and more informed networks across the region requires us to have strong communication platforms and tools. FINE has developed a successful style, and many successful communication tools and platforms. Due to the ongoing evolution of the Farm & Sea to Campus Network, there is a need to establish a distinctive identity for this initiative that is targeted specifically at the campus sector. Given this, we are seeking a graphic designer to help create a logo for the Farm & Sea to Campus Network.

The final candidate will likely begin working on the project in early March and be able to complete work on the logo in mid to late March.

Key Job Elements

The successful candidate will work closely with the Farm & Sea to Campus Coordinator to:

  • Discuss design elements for the logo
  • Bring forward design drafts and concepts for review
  • Edit designs for the logo based on feedback, until a final design is agreed upon
  • Deliver all original design files (preferably created in Adobe Illustrator)

A note on typography: please plan to share with us any purchased fonts or utilize fonts that are available for free online or via Adobe Typekit.

  • Talented and skilled graphic designer with experience creating logos
  • Proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong interpersonal skills – can easily interact with FINE staff throughout design process
  • Ability to work independently once provided with some direction

How to Submit a Proposal

Please submit one to two paragraphs detailing your experience and your interest in this project. Include at least three examples of your previous design work as well as a budget that outlines your hourly rate, the number of hours you think it would require to complete the goals outlined above, and any additional expenses you anticipate. Our maximum budget for this project is $400.

Please submit your proposal to Riley Neugebauer at [email protected] by March 3rd. Follow-up calls may be necessary to determine the best candidate. We hope to make a selection by March 7th.
